How to Install Pedestal Sink : Town Square Pedestal Sink

If you are looking for an easy way to add style to a room bathroom in your home, install a pedestal sink. These pedestal sink can be mounted on any type of floor in the bathroom, even concrete. It helps to have an electric drill during this procedure to help you through the concrete walls and tiles for installation of the mounting bolts.

Clean the concrete floor around where you are installing the pedestal sink with a broom and brush. Remove anything sticking to concrete, like putty or drywall compound with a paint scraper. Spread a layer of plumber’s putty 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) wide. Press it around the hole in the bottom of the sink. Insert the tube into the drain flange and tighten by turning clockwise. Press the tab down in the plumber’s putty to secure. Tighten the jamb nut on the end of the tailpiece against the flange.

Moves the pedestal sink in position sewer inlet and the water supply valves in the wall. The hole in the rear of the pedestal should be aligned with the entrance to the drain. Lift the sink and put it on top of the pedestal. Level the sink with a spirit level. Once the toilet is located, use a marker to mark the mounting holes in the basin of the same wall. It also marks the mounting holes in the pedestal if present. Remove the pedestal and sink.
